Marital adjustment and sexual satisfaction in married couples with sexual functioning disorders: A comparative study evaluating patients and their partners

Objective: Sexual satisfaction is a predictor of marital satisfaction, and sexual satisfaction. This study was an evaluation the quality this relationship in Turkish women men with diagnosed dysfunction (SD). Method: A total 65 married couples which at least 1 partner had SD who presented Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty Medicine Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic were enrolled study. Data collected using sociodemographic clinical data form, Golombok-Rust Inventory Satisfaction (GRISS), Birtchnell Marital Partner Evaluation Scale (BMPES). The participants divided into 4 groups according to gender presence SD: SD+ female (n=44), SD- (n=14), male (n=23), (n=35). Results: Comparison revealed that BMPES directiveness subscale scores higher among males, whereas detachment dependency lower. When compared their partners, males also lower scores. Analysis group findings indicated significant difference only GRISS vaginismus subdimension. Among men, those than SD-.
